My P90X Journey…

I’ve started a page on my blog  to document my 90 days with P90X.  I am posting my opinions of the workouts, how I’m feeling the next morning (OUCH!), and what changes and improvements I begin to notice.  PLEASE CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT MY P90X PAGE! Like I mentioned before, I’m in pretty good cardiovascular shape, was doing weights about 3 times a week, and have now decided to take on the P90X challenge.  Keep checking back to check my progress and PAIN!  Hope to hear from you.

PS: I have my pre-P90X pictures in my camera!!!  I will post when I’m ready and feel that I’ve improved.  As of now…they’ll stay on  my memory card 🙂

P90X, Let’s see what you’re made of!

After watching an infomercial (which usually put me to sleep), I decided that P90x might actually be something worth while.  It’s a compilation of 12 workout DVD’s that you use during a 90 day period.  It was created by Tony Horton for people that were in good shape to use to give themself that extra push.  The program is based on muscle-confusion.  It keeps your body guessing, avoiding plateaus because of getting accustomed to a certain workout routine.  There are DVD’s for: Chest/Back, Plyometrics, Shoulders/Arms, Yoga, Legs/Back, Kenpo, Stretch, Core Synergistics, Chest/Shoulders/Triceps, Back/Biceps, Cardio, and Ab Ripper.  Just by looking at the DVD titles, it definitely seems to cover all the basis.  If you’ve read my previous posts, you can see that I’m in somewhat decent shape.  I am looking for a little definition in my arms, legs, and abs.  I was convinced after watching the infomercial, reading the reviews online, and looking at youtube videos on people’s progress.  I must admit, though, I am not certain that it will “transform” me in 90 days…but I will take the P90x challenge.  I already purchased my pull-up bar and have a set of resistance bands for the time being.  I am excited to begin this new workout regimen the moment it arrives in the mail.  The program states that the videos are enough to get you in tip-top shape.  I, however, find myself planning to get some additional cardio in at the gym.  I run quite often, and don’t want to give that up.  Once the videos arrive, I will be posting updates on my progress throughout the program.  I am excited and hope to see results!

PS: Read reviews on the nutrition plan it brings, and many said that it’s too high in calories for women.  Have not looked at it, since it hasn’t arrived, but will post further information once I skim over it.

I’m very happy to announce that my P90X program is underway and you can click on my “My P90X Journey” page and check out my comments, progress, and compaints of soreness!  🙂  Comments are welcome.  I need all the motivation I can get!
